UNLEASH YOUR NETWORKING POTENTIAL

Tim drafted a great post last week about the continuing benefit of face to face communications in a digital world.
Quest put this to the test last night when we held a networking event for our clients, including Bluefish Regeneration, hlw McCombie Commercial Lawyers, Davidson Large and business partners to celebrate a clutch of new business wins, new staff appointments and the unveiling of our shiny new media training suite.
Despite the rain and ever-dropping temperatures, our guests flocked from across Yorkshire to share a drink and nibbles, to see familiar faces and meet new contacts.
It also gave us an opportunity to update guests on our exciting digital media developments, which include corporate blogs – and remind them of how we guarantee coverage in target media and guarantee numbers of visitors to websites and blogs.
Hearing the buzz, and seeing dozens of business cards being exchanged, reiterated the importance of interacting with real human beings to sell business products and services. Nothing beats the enthusiasm of sharing great business experiences, and I’m guessing lots of exciting new partnerships were forged.
But it’s when the two worlds of offline and online powerfully fuse that the magic begins. The ability to network online can open up so many doors – in fact just this week we’ve had a new business lead come to us via LinkedIn. Like face-to-face networking, the online version can appear a little daunting to begin with, and although some people are naturals, the rest of us can still learn the necessary skills and tools to help us maximise what we’re doing.
Thanks to everyone who came along last night – we all enjoyed it so much, we’ll definitely be holding another one soon!

Great observations Shona – fusing the online and offline is more important than ever, and is also applicable to networking as illustrated by this great post from one of my favourite bloggers http://tinyurl.com/34hmjm
